Rasta Imposta also makes costumes based on characters in 'Ted,' 'The Hangover' and 'Dumb and Dumber'

As “Breaking Bad” winds down with its fifth season airing now on AMC, producers have found a new way for the show’s characters to live on: the Halloween costume.
Rasta Imposta has landed the exclusive deal to produce a costume based on Bryan Cranston’s Walter White character, a high school chemistry teacher who gets into the meth business to help his family.
The Halloween costume will feature the iconic yellow hazmat suit, complete with red and black hazmat mask, blue gloves and goatee. Leave out the goatee and it could also naturally serve as a costume for Aaron Paul’s Jesse Pinkman character.
The costume will be available at most Halloween retailers in early October.
“We are very excited to enter into this agreement with Sony, allowing Rasta Imposta to have the official Breaking Bad costume for this Halloween in the U.S.,” says Robert Berman, president and chief executive officer, Rasta Imposta. “We are overwhelmed by the initial reaction to the costume from our buyers and look forward to serving the Halloween trade and Breaking Bad fans this season.”
Rasta Imposta also makes costumes based on the films “Ted,” “The Hangover,” “Dumb and Dumber” and “A Christmas Story.”

Sony Pictures Television, which produces the series, brokered the deal. It’s also sought out other licensing opportunities, including apparel and action figures by Mezco Toyz.
Mezco sold a limited edition figure of White in his hazmat suit at Comic-Con this summer, with only 1,500 available for purchase. Item included a fifty-five gallon chemical drum and a trio of lab bottles.

The costume is a good move for Sony, given that Americans spent $8 billion on Halloween costumes, candy and decorations last year. The holiday is second only to Christmas in popularity and spending, according to the National Retail Federation.
“Breaking Bad” kicked off its fifth season on Aug. 11.
